A short preface, I am writing these articles for those people who are either completely new to video games, or for those who find it very difficult to understand them. This guide is not created for a clear understanding of all the mechanics of the game, but more to understand the main aspects, as well as to tell newbies about the details.

Before the release of the new update, I decided to prepare a guide for beginners, in which I will analyze all the main aspects of the game. Of course, it will be almost impossible to understand all the intricacies in the conditions of one article, but I will try to tell how a beginner can quickly level up in Genshin Impact and what mistakes should not be made in any case.

Disclaimer: I know that playing Chinese games is a gray area, but tell that to the whole country sitting on a Chinese social network, not me. 

Adventure Rang or Advanture Rang

Of course, such a huge and complex game needs an experience system. But unlike regular RPGs or MMORPGs, where leveling occurs for your specific character, here the experience system is divided into several types: Adventure Rank Experience, character experience, and friendship experience. Let's start with Adventure Rank.

Adventure Rank is essentially a global level system that affects all aspects of the game. This is the level of your account as a whole, and the quests, bosses, dungeons, etc. available to you depend on it. Leveling this level is your main goal, because even the maximum level of your characters and weapons depends on it.

One of the main functions of the adventure rank is to level up the world. There's no point in explaining what it is to Diablo 3-4 players, although if you've played it, you wouldn't be reading this. So, raising the level of the world means increasing the difficulty of the game, and with that, increasing the quality of the rewards that you can receive in the open world. That is, the drop from world bosses will become better, which means that it will be easier to level characters and the level of rarity of artifacts that drop. 

However, in order to increase the level of the world, you will need to go through a dungeon, which will be your little test and check whether you are ready for future adventures. 

An important point is that it all relates to the open world. In dungeons, you choose the difficulty level yourself.

The first characters of the Genshin Impact universe

While you go through the first quests and enjoy the beautiful views of Mondstatt, you will be given the first three characters. Here they are from left to right:

Pyro	Cryo	Electro

All of them are good characters. All of them are a clean bottom and don't you dare pump exp into them. Remember, these characters are pure utility, a tool. Lighter Amber, Kyiv Bud Keya Bridge and Lisa is sneaky (She is not an instrument, but for "Ara Arit" you will die). You will definitely use these characters, however NOT IN BATTLE. 

Useful skills for exploring the world of Genshin

Each character in the game has passive non-combat abilities that can be useful when exploring the world. For example, the "flashlight" on the 20% has a reduced stamina consumption in a glider flight. This knowledge can save you until you have raised your stamina level (endurance), on your account. 

Comrade Keiya, our gypsy friend, has a main feature that is no longer passive. His elemental skill allows you to freeze water even for a period that exceeds the cooldown (recovery time) the skill itself. This is necessary because swimming in Genshin also consumes stamina, and if you don't finish swimming, you start from the same shore where you were at the beginning of the swim. This feature will help you throughout the game, because the developers left a lot of secrets and easter eggs on distant islands.

And yes, the level of stamina for all characters here is the same and is pumped up by collecting various unique tricks, but we will analyze this next time. 

And then you will ask me how to fight in these genshins of yours, and I will answer: pray, pray and pray again. I will talk about the mechanics of prayers next time, but for now just take into account that these frames are your tools. In the first pairs, you will beg for a couple of Persians, and even they will be better than the starters, it does not matter who they are. In the first three levels of the world, you will hardly need more than two characters, so focus on leveling them and do not spray. After all, experience here is limited, but more on that in the next section.

Genshin Impact character experience

So we got to the second type of experience, and right away we will talk about the third, because there is not much to say about it. 

Character experience (English Character EXP) - is used to pump the level of a specific character. That is, not you, but the specific Persian that you have already asked your mother for. The higher the level of the Persian, the greater his characteristics: damage, HP, etc. That is, the level of the charm (character) v genshin directly affects your combat characteristics. 

Gaining experience in Genshin occurs during any actions, be it killing a mob or opening a chest, but it is issued in absolutely tiny quantities and only on the character who is currently active. That is, not in the pot, but right now standing on the ground. You can also get experience from the main story quests, but there it is issued exclusively to the main character, aka GG, aka the traveler or "Traveller". 

How to pump a character into Genshin?

For this, you need to use scrolls of experience, which will fall from all possible places in this game. They are of three types. Well, according to the color, they give a different amount of experience.

At the 20th level of the character, you will lean against a wall called "Ascension". This is a blocker of the maximum level and speed of pumping the player. And it exists exclusively to stretch the gameplay. 

In order to complete it, it is necessary to reach a specific adventure rank, as well as collect the necessary materials. For each character, these materials are different, but they are also divided into subgroups. For example, for characters from the Mondstadt region, you will need resources that can be collected only there. And it would seem that it is cool, but no. The bad news is just beginning.

If you got a cool five-star character, but he is from a region that is still inaccessible to you in terms of the plot, then you are left with a nose. After all, under no circumstances will you pump it above level 20. Chinese again you cheated

Weapon leveling works in the same way, i.e. you can raise the level with the help of other guns, but you will be able to "elevate" only when you open a region, and in it there is a dungeon with the necessary material, which banally makes it impossible to level most of the weapons from new updates for beginners in Genshin. And I will remind you that you can knock out not only a character, but also a really cool and unique weapon in a genshin while praying. So congratulations, you have a chance to play 30 hours and drool over the weapons and characters you already have, but it's still so far away.

Experience friendship in Genshin Impact

Well, as promised, a little about the mechanics of friendship. Friendship experience is obtained by exploring the world with the character you took into the squad. And this experience is responsible for the level of friendship. By itself, this feature does not make sense for the gameplay, but when you raise the level of friendship, new lines will be opened, as well as recipes for furniture and food, if you place characters in a teapot.
